Race car driver Spencer was peddling his car as fast as he could, when he heard of Milton's mishap.

"Connie cricket is slowing as she enters the turn. Spencer is right behind her. Gormon groundhog is still nowhere to be seen. Nawwer, the field mouse, has confirmed that Gormon is in a hole, tunneling," commented Woohoo.

Captain Stinky made some adjustments on the car frame. OK, really he reapplied some more tape to keep the box from falling off. Anyway, he made adjustments. Once finished, he told race car driver Spencer to keep up the good work.

Woohoo continued, "Connie cricket is rounding the last turn before starting her final lap....Oh no! She seems to have jumped a little too high and hit her head on the picnic bench. Paramedics are on the scene checking her."

The paramedics were the two mosquito brothers. They rushed to Connie and asked her many questions. They asked her, "Who are you?" They also asked, "What day is it?" She was a little shaken, but the paramedics determined that she could finish the race.

Race car driver Spencer was rounding the corner where Milton was stuck. Spencer stopped, got out of his car and freed Milton from the chair leg.  Spencer asked, "Milton, do you want to ride on the back of my car? You look a little tired."

Milton was so happy that Spencer had freed him. He gladly accepted the ride, forgetting that he was supposed to be racing.  Milton perched on the back of the tricycle. Oops .. .I mean race car. Race car driver Spencer started his car again.

Woohoo continued his commentary, "And it is race car driver Spencer is on the last lap. Milton has gotten a ride from him. Is that in the rules?  ... Gormon has not reappeared. Connie still seems a little dazed and is moving slowly."

Race car driver Spencer was rounding the last corner and heading for the flag. The crowd began cheering, seeing victory in sight for him when ........he stopped!

"Connie, are you all right? Would you like a ride?" Spencer asked gently.

Connie cricket, still a little out of sorts from the bump on her head, jumped on Spencer's shoulder. "Yes, Please!" she said.

The crowd was not sure what to think. Even the commentator was confused.

"Gormon has just shown up inches from the finish line!" Mr. Woohoo announced. "It will be a race to the finish. Who will it be?"

The crowd all seemed to hold their breath, waiting to see who would win. Gormon was one step away from crossing the finish line when he stopped and waited for Spencer. Seeing Gormon stop, Spencer stopped his car and got out. He and Gormon had a brief conversation. Spencer, I mean race car driver Spencer went back and talked to Connie and Milton. Soon he reappeared with Connie and Milton in tow.  All four racers stood side by side.

The announcer didn't understand what was going on. "It is Gormon in the lead.....no Milton; no....everyone is in first place!"

With those words, all four racers took the final step across the finish line. The crowd cheered.

The announcer came to interview Gormon, "You were clearly in the lead, what made you stop?"

"Well," Gormon answered, "Maybe you should talk with Spencer."

Mr. Woohoo turned to Spencer. "Ok, you tell me, what made you stop and help everyone out?"

"They are my friends. It is not the winning that matters. It is how you run the race. We are all winners!"

Everyday Spencer and Stinky live another adventure. Keep in touch to learn what these two fellas do next!
